NEWBORN INFORMATION
-
What is the best time to photograph my newborn baby?
I prefer to photograph newborns within the first two weeks of life with days 7-10 being the ideal age if possible. It becomes much harder to capture the adorable curled up sleepy baby poses after this time.
-
When should I schedule my newborn session?
ASAP! Obiviously we don’t know the arrival date of your baby unlaess you’re having a scheduled C-Section. But I like to at least have a peciled in “due date” with an expected schedule shoot day 7 days out. Once you do deliver your baby, please just send a quick email or call about the arrival so we can set that shoot date in stone.
-
What can I expect at my newborn session?
I send a very detailed pdf of instructions/ what to expect, but a quick answer would be to expect to be at the studio 1-3 hours. We keep the shooting area very warm and seating area for the parents cool for comfort. We spend as much time as needed soothing and feeding the baby through all the transitions to get as many shots and setups as possible. Parents and siblings are welcome into the shoot.
-
Where will my newborn session take place?
My studio is in Dothan.

What if my baby is older than 2 weeks old?
Life happens and sometimes it’s impossible to get into the studio within that 7-10 day range. And that’s OK. We’ll chat on what poses you can expect to have quite easily versus others. If we’re way past the very newborn stage sometimes I’ll recommend doing a “Lifestyle” newborn session in your home which focuses on real life rather than studio posing.
